Too Cute Tuesday time!! This week I’ll be sharing these ridiculous photos of Rocky laying in bed. Joe was getting ready for bed so Rocky thought it was a good time to jump up on his side of the bed and lay next to me. He had his feet stretched out like a human and his head on the pillow. It even looks like he has his paws tucked up under him like a human would. So ridiculous and so cute! He makes me smile everyday 🙂 Anyone notice the Mr. Right pillow he’s laying on?? Totally true 😛 I hope you enjoy the Rocky Snuggles and it brightens your Tuesday! (more…)
This is the first freebie on Project Abode! It’s a print & cut file for your Silhouette (make your way to the end of the post for the file). Yay for Silhouette Freebies! If you don’t know what a Silhouette is its pretty much the greatest thing on earth. It’s your own personal electric cutting machine that makes DIY projects with paper, fabric, vinyl, & more so much easier! And for designers its even more amazing because you can import designs you create in Illustrator to Silhouette Studio to cut (I wish I had this thing in college!). Here’s a peek at mine. I have the Silhouette Cameo with a teal dust cover 😛 (more…)
This week’s Too Cute Tuesday is featuring my adorable little niece who just turned 5 years old yesterday! Kaylee and her friend have been into mermaids lately and have been drawing them a lot for whatever reason (I wish I had a sample to share with you!). Kaylee originally wanted a Frozen party but switched the theme to have a Mermaid Birthday party. Glad she was being different! My sister asked me to design her invitations and here is what I came up with! I had to design something with her love of Frozen so I made the mermaid Elsa colors 🙂
Welcome to my first DIY wedding post! This post will be about how I made my beautiful tiered wedding card box! It was a great place for guests to put cards and a wonderful statement piece at our wedding as it was one of the first things you saw when you walked into the reception! Since I made this card box before I started my blog I do not have my own step-by-step tutorial with pictures. Here is a link to the tutorial that I followed on Crafts Unleashed to make it. I will list some changes that I made from the Crafts Unleashed tutorial and some tips I have for you. For simplicities sake I will mostly refer to Crafts Unleashed as “CU”.
Hello! Last month I found out our wedding has been selected to be featured on TheKnot.com towards the end of April. I can’t wait to share our story & pictures with you! I did a lot of DIY projects for my wedding to personalize it to our style so I thought I’d do a few posts on my Wedding DIYs leading up to the big reveal day on The Knot. I didn’t really take pictures of my step-by-step process because I wasn’t doing a blog at the time of my wedding prep but I’ll do my best to describe everything and maybe re-take some pictures of what I can! The first post of this wedding series on my blog will be some tips that worked for me for wedding planning. I hope it helps you for your big day!
Hi guys it’s time for Too Cute Tuesday! I thought Rocky needed a new collar for the new house to go with his new dog tag! It matches his leash perfectly and is from the best place on earth: Target 🙂 I love his dog tag. He likes to shake his body a lot and if he had a traditional tag on it would jingle like crazy but this one attaches right on the collar which means no noise! They are called Boomerang Tags if you’re interested.
Hi all, Happy Friday! We have officially owned our home for 1 week 🙂 I’m sure most of you probably know what you need to do when you move, but for those of you that don’t or for anyone who needs a quick reminder, I thought I’d post a quick list of things you need to get done:
Time for Too Cute Tuesday! This past weekend we moved into a new home. (Check out this post to read how that went.) We were very surprised how Rocky acted when we first let him in. We thought he would run around like a maniac like he usually did at the condo. But instead he literally went through every room in the entire house and sniffed the perimeter. It was kind of funny. He still doesn’t completely understand what is going on and isn’t back to his normal self. I’m sure that will change soon. We just had some quotes given to us from different invisible fence companies and we have finally decided on one so we can’t wait for Rocky to be able to freely run around the new yard!
We have officially moved into our new-to-us home! I’ll start out this post on Thursday’s events and update you from there until today (Monday). On Thursday I finished the last of the packing and that evening when Joe got off work we immediately went and picked up our gigantic 24′ Uhaul! That thing is a beast. We were worried about it being too much room because it said for 3-4 bedroom homes and ours was a 2 bedroom. But apparently I’m just really good at organizing and packing things away that we were able to fill that thing with no problem (and still have some stuff left over at the in-laws place!). We wanted to get the 20′ but they didn’t have any for our moving weekend so I guess it’s a good thing we got the 24′!
Are you getting ready to move? We are! We are moving to a new-to-us home this Friday and we are moving ourselves (DIY!) with help from friends/family! I have compiled a list of 9 tips & tricks on how to pack for a move and stay organized along the way:
1. Grocery Bags will be your new Best Friend
If you are reading this post far ahead of your move then start saving a ton of grocery bags now to use for wrapping stuff (basically free bubble wrap and then you can recycle or repurpose later!). And, if you have space, save packing materials (bubble wrap, paper, etc) from every package you get to use for your move. I had an entire bin full of packing materials I saved from over a year. And even though I had all this material I still went through a giant roll of bubble wrap!
