Gender Reveal Party!

Gender Reveal Party

Hi readers!! Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted! It’s for a good reason though…I’m pregnant! Due April 22, 2016 and can’t wait to be a mom! I was super nauseous the first trimester and didn’t feel like doing anything so I just kind of let the blog posting slip (sorry about that). Anyway, I’m now 17 weeks & 3 days and into the second trimester so I’ve been feeling a lot better! Last night we had a gender reveal party with our families so I thought it would be a good time to make a post about that. I had a ton of fun planning and decorating! It was nice to put my creative thinking cap on 🙂 Check out all the fun pictures and to find out what we’re having!

I made a cute banner to put on the door using my silhouette saying “He or she, come in to see!”. Also, I got a couple free sample bottles from creating registries so I filled them up with water and used them as weights for the balloons! That worked out perfect because the store didn’t have any weights to buy!

The chalkboard wall is one of my favorite parts of the party decorations! I LOVE our chalkboard wall, it is so much fun to decorate for parties! I wrote down Old Wives Tales predictions for the gender and had our guests write down their guess.

Made another banner using my Silhouette saying “Pink or Blue”. I bought pink and blue clothespins from Michaels to hang them and the two onesies up. We got the onesies from our neighbor in our Halloween “you got boo-ed” box and the blue one has puppies on it 🙂

The cupcake table! I bought a bunch of supplies from the Dollar Tree (mini bottles, rattles, BABY blocks, streamer, plates, forks, table cloths) to decorate the table with.

Close-up of the gender reveal cupcakes! I got my cake stand from Home Goods (love that store!) and decorated around it with little onesies I made with my Silhouette 🙂 Those are sixlets candy in the dish.

And…. It’s a boy!! I made the cupcakes because Joe & I couldn’t wait to find out the gender. It was kind of nice to know ahead of time so we could pick out a name to announce to our family at the party. Our son’s name will be Logan William 🙂 We just liked Logan and William is Joe’s dad’s name! The cupcakes are a vanilla bean flavor with buttercream frosting. The filling is pre-made blue funfetti icing because Joe messed up the white chocolate filling I wanted to put in it 😛

I’m making a “bump book” that shows the progression of my bump through the weeks. Here are the pages with the latest pictures of Logan! I’m thinking about doing a post that goes into more detail of my bump book so you’ll be able to see more pages of that.

Hope you enjoyed looking at pictures of our gender reveal party! Sorry I’ve been gone for so long. I’m not entirely sure of the status of this blog. I will probably be posting less often than before and even more so when Logan is born. I hope to post more about how I’m decorating the nursery (Harry Potter inspired theme!) and get back into a few home decor posts as we’ve done a couple of things since I last posted. Have a good week everyone!!
